About Julie
Hi, my name is Julie, I am your local Medicare advisor and broker. With over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, I am passionate about helping individuals navigate their Medicare options with confidence and clarity. I take pride in offering personalized guidance, helping clients choose coverage that fits their healthcare needs, lifestyle, and budget. I am the co-founder of Forthright Retirement Solutions with my husband, Ted, where we have built a family-owned business centered on trust, service, and long-term relationships. I have been recognized as a Top Broker in 2019, 2020 & 2023 for my dedication, expertise, and service to clients. Did you have a nickname growing up?
I definitely had a couple of nicknames growing up. My friends and cousins always called me 'Jules,' but my mom had a special nickname for me - she called me her little 'Jujube,' after that old-fashioned candy from the 1920's. It's a sweet little memory that still makes me smile.
Who's your favorite musical artist or band?
My favorite musical artist has always been my dad and the band he played in. He was a singer, guitar player, and songwriter, and I grew up listening to him create and perform music. Their band rehearsals often took place in the bedroom next to mine, so his voice and guitar were a constant part of my childhood. Those songs are tied to some of my favorite memories, which is why his music will always be my favorite.
Tell us a little about your family.
When I'm not helping people with Medicare, I'm all about family. I've been married to my high school sweetheart for decades, and we have a full, wonderful crew of kids and grandkids. They're my world. I think sharing a bit about them helps people know I'm not just here to talk insurance - I'm here to help like I'd help my own family.
Have you ever met a famous person? Who?
My husband and I actually met Sammy Hagar when we were in New Orleans. We ran into him and his wife in the elevator at our hotel - we were all staying there at the same time. He was incredibly nice, we took pictures together, and it ended up being a really cool and unexpected experience.
What's your favorite treat or candy?
My favorite treat has to be creme brulee. I think it's probably because it reminds me of a breakfast custard my grandma used to make me. There's just something about cracking through that caramelized sugar top and getting to that creamy custard underneath that brings back all those cozy, nostalgic memories.
