Ohio Health Insurance Consultants is an independent, Ohio-based health insurance brokerage dedicated to helping individuals and families confidently navigate Medicare and related healthcare coverage. We specialize in Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug (Part D), MyCare Ohio, and Chronic Special Needs Plans (C-SNPs), working with more than 15 insurance carriers throughout the state of Ohio to provide unbiased, personalized guidance. Our approach to Medicare planning goes beyond enrollment. We take the time to educate clients on how Medicare works, review coverage annually, and provide year-round support with billing questions, appeals, grievances, prescription drug reviews, and plan changes. We also help clients understand how Medicare interacts with Medicaid, employer coverage, and supplemental benefits when applicable. At Ohio Health Insurance Consultants, our focus is on finding the right plan, not just a plan. What do you enjoy most about helping people with Medicare?
What I enjoy most about helping people with Medicare is the challenge. Every individual’s situation is different, and I truly enjoy the process of understanding the full picture. What programs someone qualifies for, how their healthcare needs intersect with their finances, and which plan will truly serve them best. Medicare planning is often like solving a puzzle, and I take great satisfaction in carefully piecing together the right solution for each person. What makes it most rewarding, though, is the outcome. Seeing a client feel confident, informed, and at ease with the coverage they’ve chosen—and knowing I played a role in helping them get there—is incredibly fulfilling. That sense of clarity and peace of mind is exactly why I do this work.
Why did you become a Medicare agent?
I became a Medicare Broker because I wanted to help people with something that has a profound impact on their lives, without it ever costing them a dollar for my assistance. Early on, I recognized that much of the Medicare and health insurance industry places more emphasis on selling plans than on educating people. I believed our seniors deserved better. Medicare is not one-size-fits-all, and in my view, the goal should never be to find someone to sell a plan to, but rather to find the right plan for each individual’s unique situation. I’m extremely detail-oriented by nature, and Medicare planning allows me to use that strength to carefully evaluate each person’s healthcare needs, prescriptions, providers, and financial considerations. I also see week after week how confusing, complicated, and at times unfair the system can be, and how many people are negatively impacted simply because they don’t have clear guidance. Becoming a health insurance and Medicare broker gave me the opportunity to be an advocate. Someone who helps cut through the confusion, explains options clearly, and supports people as they make important decisions about their healthcare. My goal has always been to educate, guide, and serve with integrity, ensuring every client feels informed, supported, and confident in the coverage they choose. Helping people navigate Medicare isn’t just what I do—it’s why I do it.
